Trail Description
The lower part of this trail skirts several large meadows of the East Inlet Creek before working its way up to scenic vistas that look back at the glaciated U-shaped valley to Grand Lake. The trail stays in the trees, reaching Lone Pine Lake at 5.5 miles and continues another 1.4 miles to the long and narrow Lake Verna. Named for the sweetheart of a member of the US Geological Survey.
How to Get There

From downtown Grand Lake, go north on Garfield and turn right onto West Portal Rd. Travel about 1.5 miles to the end of the road.
