Trail Description
Follow the trail 3 miles to The Loch and into the Loch Vale. The trail skirts around the north side of the lake and continues past the lake, following the Icy Brook for about 1/2 mile, to the Andrews Cr trail cutoff. This less improved trail gains considerable elevation through rocky terrain to an upper hanging valley that holds the glaciated tarn at the base of Andrews Glacier. How to Get There
Take the Bear Lake Road from US 36 to the Glacier Gorge trailhead, 8.3 miles. Parking during the summer season is limited. It's best to utilize the Hiker Shuttle from the Estes Park Visitor Center and the Park Shuttle Buses. |
