Trail Description
One of the most common hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park, and with good reason, it provides all the elements of a mountain hike on a relatively short, easy trial. The hike includes magnificent vistas of Longs Peak and the Glacier Gorge area, crossing over alpine streams, with classic views of dramatic Hallett Peak rising up from Dream Lake. There are some occasional steep sections on the trail. How to Get There
Take the Bear Lake Road from US 36 to the Bear Lake trailhead, 9.7 miles. Parking during the summer season is very limited. It's best to utilize the Hiker Shuttle from the Estes Park Visitor Center and the Park Shuttle Buses. |
